Open class words----content words of a language to which we can regularly add new words, such as nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs
Closed class words----grammatical or functional words, such as conjunction, articles, preposition and pronouns

closed-class word是封闭性词类，诸如介词、冠词、连词等，它们的共同特点就是每类词的成员个数基本都是固定的，不会随时有新成员添加进去。
比如，冠词只有a ,an ,the，不会再有其他新单词加入到冠词类中；相反open-class words是开放性词类，比如名词、动词、副词、形容词等，它们当中总是有新词语的加入，如“给力”、“楼歪歪”等等。我认为closed-class word是从词类的开放性角度来讲的，也就是说能否有新词随时被创造出来然后加入到某一词类里，如果不能的话，就是closed-class;function word是从意素的角度而言的，如果没有实际、具体的意义则构成“功能词”。
